Medico-legal Seminar 2013

The Sri Lankan South Australian Doctors Association (SASDA) is organizing the 2nd  Medico-legal Seminar on Friday 3rd May 2013. This seminar is sponsored by Avant Insurance, Australia’s leading MDO and the principal sponsor of SASDA. The agenda is attached herewith and please RSVP by 26th April 2013 for catering purposes.  Drinks and dinner will be provided.  Seats are limited, so be sure to book in early!

Patients behaving badly:

What motivates a patient to behave badly? This risk education session will uncover the various behaviour and situations which can catapult the unwary medical practitioner into the realms of a complaint, medical negligence claim or a very personal or perhaps violent attack.

Adverse event management:

This risk education session is designed to explain why delivering improvement of patient care can occur by analysing the underlying causes of adverse events in health care. Participants look at the principles of adverse events, their causes and strategies for prevention.

Medical photography and Patient Consent

This risk education session will highlight the legal implications and responsibilities which arise when taking photographs in a clinical setting including issues of informed patient consent and compliance with relevant Advertising Guidelines and legislation.
